How to: Brighten Under Eye Bags

December 18, 2014

Before anything else, I would like to emphasize that the key to successfully diminishing the darkness of under-eye circles is finding the right shade of concealer. Use an under-eye concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone to fully brighten the area.

Your under-eyes are particularly delicate, so consider using a featherlight concealer to combat the darkness. For my under-eye concealer, I use YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch in the shade 3.5/Luminous Almond.

It's been in the market for 25 years already, and up to now, it's still one of the most trusted concealers in the industry. True enough, this product actually makes me look like I get enough rest (lol). What I love most about it is that it doesn't settle on the annoying little lines under my eyes, and it lasts the whole day without caking up. The only downside I could think of is that it's not available in the Philippines yet. But aside from that, I can say that this product is definitely worth all the hype.

I apply my under-eye concealer after putting on my base. If you haven't seen my post about what foundation I use on a day-to-day basis, feel free to check it here: Happy Skin SS Cream Review | My everyday foundation!

I start by applying it from the inner corners of my eyes then to the actual bags, resembling a C-shape (see photo below). Don't be aggressive in applying concealer, always use thin layers then just build your way from there.

Then I gently blend the product into my skin using my ring finger. I give it extra insurance by setting it with a compact powder using a dense brush. And we're done!
